Center of Environmental Studies and Sustainable Development

The Center of Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary laboratory that brings together faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering, Real Estate and the School of Architecture. The center aims to formulate a presence in the Environmental happenings of the country through the implementation of various projects and serve as an umbrella for the postgraduate program of Environmental Impact and Sustainability Management. The various concentrations of the faculty suggest a wide range of interests that relate to waste management and waste streams, bioclimatic design of buildings and sustainable development.  Other topics that are relevant including the incorporation of waste material in the construction industry, waste water management, energy refurbishment of buildings and sustainability of traditional construction.
