Under the Erasmus+ Project entitled: Act Now – A training program development for healthcare professionals to use the principles of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to facilitate patient adjustment to the challenges of living with a visible difference, Neapolis University in Cyprus hosted the second meeting of the partner delegates on Friday March 29th, 2019. Dr Marios Argyrides, Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychology is the delegate representing Cyprus in the Project. During this meeting, the results of the national surveys of health professionals were presented and discussed as well as the next steps that will take place until the 3rd meeting that will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It is worth noting that the objectives of this project are to (i) develop, (ii) test (iii) implement and (iv) disseminate the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) training package for healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, etc.), other than psychologists, enabling them to use ACT principles to facilitate patient adjustment to disfiguring conditions.
