For the next three years, Neapolis University in Cyprus will have the honor to be the host of a prestigious Jean Monnet Chair, which has been awarded by the European Commission to Dr. George Pavlidis to further promoting his teaching and research into innovative methods for “Targeting Criminal Assets in the European Union”.
Dr. George Pavlidis (PhD Geneva, LLM Warwick, LLM SMU, LLB Thessaloniki), the Jean Monnet Chair holder, is member since 2013 of the Permanent Academic Staff at the Law School of NUP and with over 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals in English, French, Spanish and Greek has an established reputation and experience in the field of international and EU law.
By hosting the new Jean Monnet Chair the Neapolis University in Cyprus and Law School as well become member of the network of Jean Monnet Chairs and Jean Monnet Professors, increases its international recognizability, participates actively in contemporary academic reflection groups and transnational research activities on EU studies and enhances the participation of the scientific community and civil society in the discussion on the challenges of the European integration.
