The Signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Presidential Commissioner’s Office
On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Presidential Commissioner’s Office and the University’s Rector’s Office during the Presidential Commissioner’s visit to the Neapolis University in Cyprus premises.
The Memorandum was signed on behalf of the Presidential Commissioner’s office, by the Presidential Commissioner Mr. Fotis Fotiou and on behalf of the University by Prof. Pantelis Sklias, Rector of Neapolis University Pafos.
The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation aims to strengthen the joint effort of the parties to address and resolve issues, which refer to, among others, Cypriots of the Diaspora, enclaved persons, religious groups and issues of a humanitarian nature in general.
The Presidential Commissioner Mr. Fotiou pointed out that the signing of the Memorandum forms the institutional framework, so that the two sides may cooperate both on issues concerning Cypriots of the Diaspora, but also on other issues within the responsibilities of the Presidential Commissioner’s Office, as well as more specific arrangements, such as the offering of University scholarships to children of trapped parents.
The Rector of Neapolis University Pafos stated that both the University Curricula, which aim at affordable academic excellence and the successful connection with the labour market at the national and international level, as well as the various actions of contribution to the social, cultural and natural environment of the Republic of Cyprus, which are already being implemented by the University and are expected to intensify through the joint actions of the Memorandum of Cooperation, will contribute to the objective of the Commissioner’s Office, especially for the new generation of expatriates, so that they remain close to the roots, history and culture of our homeland and of Hellenism in general.
