On the 15th and 16th of December 2022 in Sweden, the kick-off meeting of the Body Image and Inclusive Physical Activity [BIIPA] Erasmus+ project took place.
Neapolis University Pafos, led by Assoc. Professor Marios Argyrides from the Psychology Department, will be involved together with other colleagues from Kristianstad University in Sweden, Triskelion in Norway, University of Porto in Portugal, Lietuvos Sports University in Lithuania, and Paderborn University in Germany.
The aim of this project is to develop Body Image and Inclusive Physical Activity [BIIPA] curricula, a 7.5 and 15 ECTS set of teaching modules for students who will become teachers, healthcare professionals, physical education teachers, qualified sports coaches, public health, and health promotion professionals, and stackable micro-credential courses to serve as continuing education for people already working in these professions. University professors with experiences in the different education programs, and pedagogical experts in developing new curriculums will build an expert consortium.
With the completion of the project, the institutions will offer courses consisting of 7.5 or 15.0 ECTS credits in different academic fields such as physical education teachers, healthcare professionals, coaches, etc. The aim is to raise significant awareness in the future professionals in the fields of health, education, and sports on these issues affecting the psychological wellbeing of individuals.
