Neapolis University Pafos, in collaboration with JetBrains, proudly participated in the Reflect Festival on May 30-31, 2024. Reflect Festival is the island’s premier tech event, bringing together entrepreneurs, engineers, investors, and tech enthusiasts from around the globe.
JetBrains, a global leader known for its high-quality development tools used by millions of developers worldwide, joined forces with Neapolis University Pafos to showcase their innovative educational initiatives and achievements.
The highlight of the festival was a captivating presentation on the TechIsland stage, featuring Natalia Kitaeva, Project Coordinator of Education at JetBrains, and Alexander Kulikov, Head of the Laboratory of Algorithms and Complexity Theory at JetBrains Research and Lecturer at Neapolis University Pafos.
During their presentation, Kitaeva and Kulikov highlighted several impactful educational projects co-developed by Neapolis University and JetBrains across Cyprus. These projects include the Cyprus Programming Challenge, the Cyprus Open, and the Joint Advanced Student School, all aimed at fostering tech talent and innovation among the youth.
A significant milestone celebrated at the festival was the historic achievement of the Neapolis University Pafos team, which reached the ICPC finals for the first time, marking the first-ever appearance by a Cypriot team in the finals.
Additionally, the presentation introduced the forthcoming Neapolis University Pafos programme in BSc Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, (*currently in the process of accreditation), reflecting the strong commitment of NUP to advancing education in cutting-edge fields.
The panel also addressed the current challenges faced by the tech and education sectors and shared their strategies for tackling these issues to continue driving innovation and excellence.
