Anastasios (Tasos) Antoniades graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Patras and pursued a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT). His Ph.D. research focused on Deep Learning, particularly in Representation Learning, and encompassed a wide range of topics, including Bayesian Inference, Stochastic Processes, Non-Parametric Statistics, and Information Theory.
His Ph.D. work was conducted as part of the European research program Artificial Intelligence for the Deaf (aiD), which aimed to develop high-accuracy deep learning models for deaf and hearing individuals to enhance interactive communication between them.
Anastasios later worked as a postdoctoral researcher at CUT under the AtheroRisk research program. The primary objective of this program was to identify unstable carotid plaques associated with symptoms through ultrasonic image analysis and plaque motion analysis.
During his doctoral studies and later as a postdoctoral researcher, Anastasios taught a series of courses related to his expertise at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
He then entered the job market, working as a data scientist and analyst specializing in programs focused on extracting insights from large amounts of data.
