The School of Architecture, Land and Environmental Sciences of the Neapolis University in Cyprus organized on May 20, 2013 a lecture open to the public with the subject “Bioclimatic design outdoor spaces”. The lecture was held by Evangelia Marinou, an Architect Engineer, with a degree in Architecture Energy and Sustainability. Ms Marinou said, that the designer develops design through the landscape and the instructions given by the region itself by taking advantage of thermal and optical zones, adjusting with appropriate materials and volumes choices irradiation and shading conditions, adjusting their individual areas in correspondence with the audibility developing and studying social action and use of the study area. In conclusion Ms Marinou underlined that the correct environmental and bioclimatic design of open outdoor spaces and areas of cities is very important. The lecture was part of a course of Dr. Julia Georges, Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture and Director of European and Research Programs of Neapolis University in Cyprus. A productive discussion with participants followed.
