RICS Leadership in challenging times
RICS has recently appointed six new qualified professionals to represent its new Cyprus RICS Advisory Board. It is chaired by Thomas Dimopoulos MRICS who teaches at Neapolis University in Cyprus and at the Cyprus University of Technology. This diverse set of thought leaders will help RICS bring about beneficial change in response to the challenges the world faces.
Thomas Dimopoulos, MRICS
Thomas has been the Chairman of the RICS Cyprus Board since 2017 and a board member since 2014. He holds an engineering Degree from Aristotle University, an MSc in Real Estate from Oxford Brookes and a PhD from the Dept. of Civil Engineering and Geomatics from the Cyprus University of Technology. He is an academic and an active researcher, with more than fifteen publications in peer reviewed journals and conferences. His research focuses on AVM with machine learning and AI techniques. He teaches at Neapolis University and at the Cyprus University of Technology. He is also a member of the European Board of IVSC and a board member of the local Association of Property Valuers.
He is a member of ETEK, TEE, IAAO and IPTI.
He is the Director and founder of AXIA Chartered Surveyors™ (T. Dimopoulos & Associates Property Valuers LLC) and co-founder and Director of Real Geosolutions, a prop-tech company that is developing software that integrates GIS technology, valuations, and statistical analysis.
Thomas serves RICS as Chair, as author, as assessor and as person in charge for an RICS accredited MSc and he is involved in several committees. He believes that surveying professions need further standardization, transparency, and consistency and he works hard towards that direction.
