Neapolis University in Cyprus, through the Department of Applied Informatics, demonstrates its continuous support for the local community of Paphos and its educational structures.
More precisely, the Department of Informatics, within the framework of its efforts to enhance the promotion of new Information Technologies, financially supports the Computer Training Center Salomi Evripidou and the young “inventors” of our city with the amount of 2200 Euros, who won the Robotex 2018 Cyprus Competition, organized with the Robotex International Competition standards.
The Team “Super Robots” won 1st place in the Lego WeDo Robotex Pancyprian competition, by creating a construction model which included various robotic components, based on the subject “The Robots in Cyprus in 100 Years”. The team consists of the students Papamichail Panagiotis, Polybiou Kyriakos, Argyrou Mihalis, Nicolaides Rafael and Zenonos Zenonas, all students of the Elementary A’-C. With this success, they also gain the right to represent Cyprus in the World Robot Competition 2018 which will be held in Estonian capital, Tallinn, between November 30 and December 2 2018.
With its financial support, Neapolis University gives the opportunity to the young “inventors” and the future scientists to participate in a world-class competition. The benefits gained by such missions, both for our City and our Country, but above all for the participating students, are enormous.
