The Liaison Office of Neapolis University in Cyprus, proceeded in students placements, for the academic year 2018 – 2019, in host institutions (businesses and organizations) with activity related to their curricula. The placements, in which a provision of remuneration is provided, were made in the framework of the European Project “Liaison Offices with the Labor Market”, which is being implemented by the Neapolis University in Cyprus and co-funded by the European Structural Funds, through the European Social Fund unit and national resources.
Specifically, 40 students from three Departments of Neapolis University in Cyprus (Architecture, Banking – Accounting and Finance and Business Administration) chose the placement course, which is included in their curricula.
The most important success of the placement course is the employment of students before earning their degree, which reaches the 52.5% of participants, while those who improved their working condition reach the 66.6% of the participants.
Also, an important achievement of the Project was the opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the professional environment of their chosen course of during their studies period, as well as to acquire the necessary working experience, which gives them a comparative advantage over their fellow candidates in the labor market.
At the same time, the Neapolis University is emerging as an organization fully aligned with the needs of the labor market, which, in addition to the academic excellence it pursues and serves, provides the students with the skills and knowledge needed to successfully meet the changing labor market challenges.
