Signing of Memorandum of Cooperation with “Athinodorou Beton Ltd”

Aiming at academic excellence with emphasis on its curricula to be in compliance with local labour market requirements, Neapolis University Pafos expands its network of collaborations by welcoming “Athinodorou Beton Ltd” to its portfolio.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on January 27th 2022 by Dr. John Bellos, Associate Professor of Structural Design and Construction Technology and President of the Department of Civil Engineering of Neapolis University Pafos and by Mrs. Olga Athinodorou, Managing Director of “Athinodorou Beton Ltd”.
“Athinodorou Beton Ltd” with extensive experience in the concrete industry has been in the forefront of quality assurance of the product since 1987, they specialize in the design, production and delivery of ready-mixed concrete, plaster and mortar. The company has at its disposal three batching plants and five production lines in Pafos district. It is worth noting that the company’s activities are not limited only to commercial endeavors but has also expanded in maintaining and improving the environment.
This cooperation agreement aims to provide scheduled site visits to the plant as part of the courses program in order to assess the regulation and practices of concrete design.
In addition, it envisages the conducting of seminars addressed to the business and student communities for training on topics related to the science of concrete technology. Decisive factor in this cooperation is Mr. Anthos Ioannou, Visiting Academic Staff of the Department of Civil Engineering of Neapolis University Pafos, who will be in charge of outlining research proposals for joint projects on issues related to science, concrete technology as well as in the exploration of new types of high and ultra-high strength cement concrete and environmentally friendly concrete.
In addition to the above, the cooperation also concerns the participation of “Athinodorou Beton Ltd” in the European Project “University Labour Market Liaison Offices” which is funded by the European Union Structural Funds and by national resources, for students’ placement in their premises in order to obtain work experience and improve their skills and qualifications during their studies.
Undoubtedly, the Memorandum of Cooperation between Neapolis University Pafos and the company “Athinodorou Beton Ltd” is the first step in promoting projects that are in line with the vision and purpose of the two bodies and acts productively and with measurable results in the field of education and exchanges expertise for the benefit of the society.
